
Paper Clay Techniques for Sculptural Forms
Join us at the Earth Center Studio at Tyler Park for a hands-on Paper Clay workshop focused on fresh approaches to three-dimensional design and expressive sculptural forms.
Designed for students with some prior clay experience (all skill levels welcome), this weekend intensive helps you develop a personal vision for hand-built sculpture while experimenting with paper clay.
Workshop highlights:
· Demonstrations emphasizing slab construction, with options to explore coil building, pinching, and other methods
· Material and surface techniques: paper clay, texture, colored slips, underglaze, decorating methods, and glaze application
· Studio time to work independently, plus individual and group instruction
· Group discussions and critiques to help you push your work to the next level
· Included with the workshop is a written description/instruction for making paper clay.
· 7 lbs of porcelain paper clay is included with the workshop

Artist Bio
Jerry Bennett is currently an active studio artist in the Philadelphia area and runs the Two Rivers Studio. He received his M.F.A. from Indiana University at Bloomington Indiana in 1975 and has given workshops and lectures at over fifty colleges, schools and art centers throughout the USA, and Jerry recently led the Second International Paper Symposium in Kecskemet Hungary.
